World Abilitysport will also offer support to the WDBS in developing its current classification system to comply with International Paralympic Committee (IPC) standards, as WDBS continues to work towards the goal of gaining entry for disability snooker into the Paralympic Games.

Rudi Van den Abbeele, the President of World Abilitysport said: “Following the memorable debut of snooker on our Games programme last year in Thailand, we are delighted to formalise our cooperation with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. We look forward to working closer together, creating more opportunities and growing the sport for people with physical impairments globally.”

Nigel Mawer QPM, WDBS Chairman, said: “We are incredibly excited to sign an agreement with World Abilitysport as we continue to work towards our goal of growing disability snooker globally and ultimately restoring to the Paralympic Games.

“The 2023 World Abilitysport Games in Thailand was a landmark occasion for WDBS and we are excited to be working together to further increase the opportunities available in disability snooker.”
