10/02/2025

The first edition of the World Abilitysport Beach Games will be held from 18-25 October 2025 in the picturesque city of Mersin in southern Türkiye.

The Local Organising Committee of the 2025 World Abilitysport Beach Games have launched their logo inspired by the natural beauty of Mersin, the host city’s Mediterranean coastline.

Mersin in Southern Türkiye will welcome teams from 18 to 25 October 2025 to what will be the first Para event of its kind, hosting a programme of beach, aquatic and open-air sport disciplines.

NPC Türkiye and Local Organising Committee President, Murat Aksu said,

The logo is a symbol of the city’s rich natural heritage and its commitment to inclusivity and sustainability. The design incorporates two key elements: the Caretta Caretta sea turtle and a citrus leaf, both of which carry deep significance for Mersin and the spirit of the Games.

The Caretta Caretta, an endangered sea turtle species, are a well-known symbol of Mersin’s coastal ecosystem and the symbolism in the logo represents the city’s dedication to environmental conservation and its unique connection to the sea.

The resilience and abilities of the Caretta Caretta to navigate vast oceans also reflects the determination and perseverance of the athletes participating in the Games.

The imagery of the citrus leaf highlights Mersin’s reputation as a major producer of citrus fruits, a key element of the region’s agricultural identity. It symbolizes freshness, vitality, and growth—values that align with the energy and dynamism of the Games.

Sports will be held in and around the picturesque Mersin Marina in what promises to be a celebration of Para sport in unforgettable surroundings.

Alongside the recently announced hosting of the 2025 Beach ParaVolley World Championships, the remaining sports on the programme will be announced ahead of entries opening in mid-May 2025.
