2025 IFCPF Men’s Asia-Oceania Championships to be Hosted at the 2025 World Abilitysport Games

The 2025 World Abilitysport Games to be held from 11-21 September 2025 in Jakarta, Indonesia will host the 2025 IFCPF Men's Asia-Oceania Cup as CP Football’s debut at a World Abilitysport (previously IWAS) Games.

The 2025 IFCPF Men’s Asia-Oceania Championships have been awarded to the 2025 World Abilitysport Games and the city of Jakarta, Indonesia.

CP Football, which makes its debut at a World Abilitysport Games, will be hosted in the GBK Sports Complex, Lapangan ABC Senayan and will welcome men’s teams from the Asia and Oceania region.

Home team, Indonesia, who will compete for the first time in these Championships, will have their sights set on reigning regional champions, Iran for the gold. In 2023, Iran defeated Australia 2-0 on home soil while Thailand settled for bronze after a 3-0 loss to silver-medallists, Japan.

World Abilitysport Head of Sport, Harry Cootes said, ‘We’re excited to welcome the top teams from across the region to the Games, and we’re hoping this will mark the first of many collaborations between World Abilitysport and IFCPF. Let’s kick off a strong partnership and score some goals, both on the pitch and in our future endeavours!’

With three days dedicated to providing classification and training opportunities, matches will be held from 15th September culminating in the Championship final on 20th September.

IFCPF CEO, Ashley Hammond said, ‘The IFCPF is delighted to be working with World Abilitysport in the hosting of our Asia-Oceania Championship. The meticulous organization that has been put into this event by World Abilitysport will enable our teams and all of the competitors to have a wonderful experience.’

‘Indonesia is rich in cultural diversity and is a place where our athletes will enjoy the warmth from the wonderful people and enjoy the beautiful country while playing the beautiful game.’ Ashley added.

CP football will be held on a confirmed sports programme alongside Para Athletics, Para cycling, Para fencing, Para powerlifting, shooting Para sport, sitting ParaVolley and Para Taekwondo. While boccia, chess, Para archery, Para badminton, Para swimming, Para table tennis, snooker and wheelchair basketball remain under discussion for inclusion.

Entry by number will open in March with entry by name closing in July.
